Glenn Heights Teen Center
About the Teen Center
The City of Glenn Heights has opened a Teen Center that will focus on keeping area youth active and providing social opportunities, and will feature esports, a gathering hall with free snacks, game room, computer lab and more.
The Center is free to Glenn Heights teens ages 13 – 18 years old.
Teen Center Rules
The following rules have been established to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. Please review the following rules with your Teen before they attend the Teen Center.
The possession or use of weapons, alcohol, illegal drugs, or tobacco products will not be tolerated. Anyone disobeying this rule will not be allowed to attend future events and his/her parents(s) will be notified. Appropriate action, including police involvement, will be taken.
If a student is fighting, or disrespectful to staff, chaperones, peers, or equipment, his/her parents(s) will be called, and the student may be removed from the facility by staff and/or police into the custody of his/her parents or authorized individual.
The following are NOT permitted:
- Gambling, chewing gum, foul language
- Inappropriate or offensive clothing or logos
- Light sticks, lasers, and stink bombs
- Throwing, rolling, or bouncing billiard balls
- Sitting on tables, shuffleboard, or billiards table
- Food and drink are allowed in the Main Hall only
- Loitering in parking lot is not permitted
- No outside music to be played in the Teen Center other than what is chosen by staff
- Absolutely NO vaping or smoking material allowed
If your teen breaks these rules, the following will occur:
First Offense: Teen will be asked to leave center by staff for the day.
Second Offense: Teen Center Staff will ban the Teen from the Center for up to 30 days depending on offense. In some cases, the Police Department will be called if there is a need.
Third Offense: The Teen and Parents will be informed that the Teen has been barred from the building and a no trespassing order will be made by the Glenn Heights Police Department.
TV Lounge Room Rules – all TV programming is to be chosen and monitored by Parks and Recreation Staff.
Computer Lab Rules – No outside video games allowed in the computer lab area. Video game time is limited to 30 minutes per player. All games must be 2-player equipped.
Game Room Rules – absolutely no gambling. Billiards, Ping Pong, Air Hockey, and Shuffleboard have a 2-game limit until it is time to change out new players. No inappropriate board games are to be brought inside the Center.
Mentor and Volunteer Opportunities
The Center is looking for adults to serve as mentors and volunteers to provide tutoring. If you are interested in volunteering at the Teen Center, please call 469-437-2234.
