Cpl. Lucas Benson


Corporal Lucas Benson began with the Glenn Heights Police Department in 2005.  Prior to his service with the Department, he was in the U.S. Army for six years where he served in multiple combat zones.  Corporal Benson went to the Criminal Investigations Division in 2008 where he was assigned to work Crimes Against Persons up until his return to the Patrol Division in 2017.  Corporal Benson is a Master Peace Officer, Field Training Officer, a Mental Health Peace Officer, and the Department’s Firearms Instructor.  Corporal Benson is also the sole GHPD member assigned to the Southern Regional Response Group’s Special Response Team.  Corporal Benson graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas and is currently working on his Masters of Business Administration from Baylor University, where he is anticipated to graduate in Fall of 2018.
